Profiles Karen Young launched The Young Group in early 1999 and the business has been rapidly growing ever since. First, she hired Coryn Westphal as Marketing Director then tapped Judy Galloway as President in 2001. In 2005, The Young Group opened an office in Paris. Judy, an experienced focus group moderator, and Karen have added discovery services including qualitative research to the product development, marketing and branding efforts of The Young Group. The Young Group has affiliations with several major laboratories, many package designers and graphic designers in the United States and abroad. We also have relationships with industry organizations as well as a detailed in-house database on the beauty business. |

Karen Young, Chief Executive Officer Before opening The Young Group in 1999, Karen was vice president of marketing & advertising for Lancôme, the prestige division of L'Oreal. In that capacity she also handled product development and sales promotion. Before joining Lancôme, she spent seventeen years at Estée Lauder, where she held a variety of executive positions, including director of color cosmetics. Karen is an active board member of Fashion Group International, where she is chairperson of the Frontliners program. She is also active in Cosmetic Executive Women. Karen speaks fluent French and is an adjunct professor in FIT's Cosmetic Masters Program. Since opening The Young Group, Karen has developed extensive color cosmetics and skin care. She has worked on numerous established brands in the beauty category including Christian Dior Parfums, Shiseido Skin Care & Cosmetics, Bath & Body Works, Avon, Neutrogena and 3M Products.

Judy Galloway, Research Judy has worked on many well-known brands including Avon Products, Inc., Waverly Home Furnishings and Bloomingdale's. She is an experienced focus group moderator and a graduate of The Riva Research Institute. Results of her research studies have been published in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Brand Week. Judy graduated from MBC and completed the Columbia Business School Marketing Management program. She is a member of Nioxin Corporate Board of Advisors and an adjunct professor of Marketing Research in FIT's Masters Program. |

Coryn Westphal, Marketing Coryn graduated from New York University with a BA degree in Marketing and International Business in 1998. She then spent two years in marketing and communications with Deloitte & Touche LLP and Hill & Knowlton Banner McBride. Unable to resist the call of the cosmetic industry, she joined The Young Group in January 2001. Coryn works directly with clients in a creative marketing capacity, developing concepts as well as product. Her youth orientation, fresh eyes and analytical skills are true assets to the organization.
